I don't think the future of a piece is decided in one move. It took me a while to understand a move like 6. Be2 (for instance in the Sicilian Scheveningen), but then I started to respect the flexibility of such a move.Frank Sträterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04319940604063653586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10713928.post-68846231021329301032007-01-30T19:16:00.000+01:002007-01-30T19:16:00.000+01:00but the bishop is excellent at b3, the driving it ...but the bishop is excellent at b3, the driving it away (with non-developing moves) from b5 improves it almost for free.wormwoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03660805360182226665noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10713928.post-40917452176310746462007-01-30T17:17:00.000+01:002007-01-30T17:17:00.000+01:00Fier,

To dismiss a move like Bb5 in a king's pawn opening seems premature. My idea of piece harmony (or coordination) is based on the idea that pieces help each other to improve their individual activity. If you look at the Ruy Lopez: 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 the bishop provides service to the knight on f3 which gets an increased pressure on e5.Frank Sträterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04319940604063653586noreply@blogger.com
